Zachary Tekamp, CFP®, EA
Wealth Advisor
As a Wealth Advisor for Clarendon Wealth, Zach works directly with families to help them develop, clarify, and achieve their financial goals. Zach previously served as the Director of Financial Planning, where he was integral in developing the highest quality financial plans for our clients since joining our firm in 2019.
Zach’s calling to pursue a career in financial planning is fueled by his family’s adversity with financial hardships and his determination to help others who encounter similar circumstances.
Originally from Norfolk, VA, Zach graduated summa cum laude from Virginia Tech receiving a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance, with a concentration in financial planning. During his four years in Blacksburg, Zach was actively involved in the Financial Planning Association student chapter. Zach currently serves as a member on the Virginia Tech Pamplin College of Business Recent Alumni Board.
Zach received his CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ (CFP®) designation from the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards, Inc. in June 2021. He is also a member of the Financial Planning Association of the National Capital Area. He continues to participate in local chapter events to stay educated on changes and improvements in the financial planning profession.
Zach currently serves on the Journal of Financial Planning's editorial review board. As experts in key areas of knowledge in financial planning and financial services, the Journal's editorial review board members provide essential evaluation of technical manuscripts that are considered for publication in the Journal's Contribution section.
Zach became an Enrolled Agent with the Internal Revenue Service in August 2021. An Enrolled Agent is a federally-authorized tax practitioner who has technical expertise in the field of taxation, and who is empowered by the Department of Treasury to represent taxpayers before all administrative levels of the Internal Revenue Service for audits, collections, and appeals. Only Enrolled Agents, attorneys, and CPAs may represent taxpayers before the IRS.
Outside of the office, Zach enjoys spending time with family and friends, working on his golf game, and cheering on the Virginia Tech Hokies and New Jersey Devils.
